Dr. John Perdikaris

Senior Hydrodynamic and Hydrologic Modeling Expert, P. Eng.

Dr. Perdikaris has experiences in working as a Water Resources Engineer in the Hydrologic & Hydraulic Analysis Projects, Design and Assessment of Facilities and Capital Works Projects etc. He has strong familiarity with the Acts and Policies related to Water Resources. He has years of experiences in Policy/Procedural Review, Peer Review, teaching, training and research in water resources and environmental engineering, including: risk assessment, critical infrastructure protection and emergency management. He has achieved numerous Registrations, Licenses, Certifications, Publications and Awards during his service.

Personal Information

Dr. Perdikaris has worked at the Canadian Armed Forces Reserve and several  Conservation Authorities focusing on watershed conservation, floodplain mapping, flood forecasting and warning, cold weather engineering, climate change, dam safety and stormwater management. He has about 30 years of professional engineering experience in the province of Ontario and across Canada. He moved onto OPG where he focused his efforts on dam safety, risk assessment and the application of GIS to the renewable energy generation business after completing his studies. Dr. Perdikaris has developed flood inundation mapping for the following watersheds: Grand River, Laurel Creek, Conestoga River, Credit River, Welland River, Rideau River, Beaver River, Wanapitei River, Aguasabon River and Sturgeon River. In addition, he also offers professional development training to engineers in advance 2D hydraulic modeling, hydrology and hydraulics for dam safety studies, hydrologic engineering applications of GIS and hydrologic and hydraulic modeling with HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS.
